Most of what goes wrong in Harvest has the same root: Harvest only knows what somebody has recorded. If a number looks wrong, start here.

”My dashboard says $0 and I know people gave”

Almost certainly the gifts have not been recorded. Harvest never sees your congregation’s payments — they go straight to your PayPal, Revolut or Wise. Nothing appears in Harvest until somebody enters it.
1

Open your payment account

See what actually arrived.
2

Record each gift

CRM → open the contact → Add ActivityDonation. Full instructions.
3

Check the dashboard again

It moves immediately.
Doing this weekly takes a few minutes. Doing it in January takes a day, and you will have forgotten who half the payments were from.

”A member says their giving history is empty”

The gift was almost certainly recorded against a contact with no email, or a different email. Harvest matches a gift to a member by email address. The gift still counts for your church — your dashboard and your books are right — but the member cannot see it and it will not reach their year-end statement. To fix it: open that contact, add the email address they actually sign in with, and the history fills in.
Worth a check every December, before you tell your congregation their statements are ready.

”Someone signed up but I cannot find them”

They probably signed up at the wrong address. Members must create their account at your church’s address — yourchurch.theharvest.app. Someone who signs up on the main Harvest site, or on a different church’s address, is not connected to you. Ask them to sign up again at your address.

”My campaign progress bar will not move”

Same cause as the dashboard. A campaign counts recorded gifts, and during a big push giving is heaviest exactly when admin time is shortest. Record daily during a campaign. The bar is the reason the campaign exists.

”Somebody paid for an event but it still says unpaid”

That is expected until you confirm it. The attendee pays you directly and presses I’ve paid. That lands in your inbox, top right. You check your own account for the reference code, then press Confirm.
Let them in anyway. Check-in never blocks on payment, and a guest who paid on Friday should not be turned away on Sunday because nobody opened the inbox. See Check-in.

”A list is showing fewer people than I have”

If a list is longer than Harvest loads at once, it says so on screen — “Showing N — this list is incomplete”. Use search and filters to narrow down, or export for the full set. The counts above the list are always exact even when the list itself is capped.

”I cannot find a feature I know exists”

Two likely reasons:

Your plan does not include it

Harvest hides what your plan does not include rather than showing it locked. Check Plans and limits.

Your permissions do not include it

A group with no permitted tabs is omitted entirely for that admin. Check Roles and permissions.

”I hit a plan limit”

Harvest tells you at the moment you hit it. Some limits can be raised without changing plan — contact packs, admin seats and campuses are all add-ons. If you went over a limit by downgrading, you keep what you have. You just cannot add more until you are under the cap.

”A volunteer did not get their rota invitation”

Invitations go by email. Check:
  • The email address on their contact record
  • Their spam folder — the sender shows as your church’s name via Harvest
  • That the rota was actually sent, not just filled in
The accept link needs no account and no sign-in, so they can answer from any device.
