Fundraising campaigns

A campaign is a goal with a progress bar — a building fund, a mission trip, a new sound desk. Create one under Fundraising, set the target and the closing date, and it appears in the member app with your payment links attached.

How progress is counted

A campaign’s progress bar only moves when gifts are recorded. Money sitting in your PayPal that nobody has entered does not show up.If your bar says 6% funded and you know you have more, the gifts are waiting to be recorded.
This catches people out during a big push, when giving is heaviest and admin time is shortest. Record daily during a campaign.

Giving statements

At year end, your members need a record of what they gave. Harvest builds these from the gifts you have recorded. Each member sees their own statement in their account, broken down by year, with a downloadable receipt for each gift.

What a member sees

  • Every gift you recorded against their email address
  • A per-year total
  • A receipt they can download

What they do not see

  • Gifts recorded against a contact with no email
  • Gifts recorded against a different email from the one they sign in with
A member can only ever see their own receipts. Harvest matches on the email address they signed in with, so one member cannot see another’s giving.

Before you send people to their statements

It is worth a check in December:
1

Make sure every gift is recorded

Compare your payment accounts against your dashboard total.
2

Check the contacts with no email

Any gift recorded against them is invisible to that person. Add the email and the statement fills in.
3

Then tell your congregation

They will find their statement in the member app under their profile.

Accounting

Every recorded gift also lands in Accounting as an invoice, so your books and your giving totals agree without anyone entering the same gift twice.
