# Check-in

> Get people through the door on the day.

<Note>
  Check-in is available on **Pro and Ministry**.
</Note>

Check-in is what happens at the door — scanning tickets, finding the person who lost theirs, and knowing afterwards who actually came.

## On the day

Each registration has a ticket code. Your volunteers either scan it or search by name, and tap to check the person in.

The event page shows **Total**, **Confirmed** and **Attended** so you can see the room filling.

## Payment never blocks the door

<Warning>
  A guest whose payment has not been confirmed **still gets in**.

  Somebody pays on Friday, nobody confirms until Sunday, and they arrive with a ticket reading unpaid. Check-in shows the flag to your volunteer and lets them through. You sort the money afterwards.
</Warning>

This is deliberate. Turning away someone who has paid, because an admin had not opened the [inbox](/ministry/events), is worse than any amount of reconciliation.

## Train your volunteers on one sentence

<Tip>
  **"If it says payment not confirmed, let them in and tell the office."** That is the whole briefing. A volunteer who is unsure will otherwise hold up a queue asking someone.
</Tip>

## Afterwards

Export the attendance list as a CSV. Attendance is recorded per person, so somebody who came to three events this year shows that history on their contact.

## Kids and safeguarding

<Note>
  Harvest records who registered and who attended. It does not print security labels or match a child to a collecting adult.

  If you run children's work with a safeguarding process, keep that process. Use Harvest for the register, not as the safeguarding system.
