# Set up your church

> From signing up to your first Sunday.

Setting up takes about twenty minutes. You do not need to finish everything before inviting people — pick the one thing your congregation needs first and add the rest as you go.

## 1. Create your account

Sign up at [theharvest.site](https://theharvest.site). You can use an email address and password, or continue with Google.

Every plan except Free starts with a **14-day free trial**. You are not charged during the trial and you can cancel from your billing settings.

## 2. Choose your address

Your church gets its own address on Harvest:

```
yourchurch.theharvest.app
```

This is the link you give your congregation. It is also where your public pages live — your event registration pages, your public calendar and anything you share on the web.

<Warning>
  Pick carefully. Your address appears on printed material, QR codes and links people bookmark, so changing it later means those stop working.
</Warning>

## 3. Add your church details

Under **Church**, add your name, address and contact details. Two of these do real work:

* **Your address** puts you on the [church map](/member-app/overview) that members use to find congregations near them.
* **Your logo and colours** appear throughout the member app. See [Branding](/your-church/branding).

## 4. Invite your team

Go to **CRM → Roles** and add the people who will help run things. Harvest lets you give each person exactly the access they need — a worship leader who plans services does not need to see your accounting.

[Roles and permissions](/your-church/roles-and-permissions) covers this properly.

## 5. Add the first thing your people need

This is the step that matters. Most churches start with one of these:

<CardGroup cols={3}>
  <Card title="A course" icon="graduation-cap" href="/content/courses">
    Discipleship material people work through at their own pace.
  </Card>

  <Card title="A service" icon="list-check" href="/ministry/service-planning">
    Your Sunday run sheet and volunteer rota.
  </Card>

  <Card title="A giving link" icon="hand-holding-heart" href="/giving/payment-links">
    So people can give before anything else is ready.
  </Card>
</CardGroup>

## 6. Invite your congregation

Share your address. People create their own accounts and land in the member app.

<Note>
  Members sign up at **your** address, not the main Harvest site. If someone signs up somewhere else, they will not be connected to your church.
</Note>

## What happens next

Nothing is locked in. You can add features as you need them, and everything you have not set up simply stays out of the way — Harvest hides sections your church has not started using rather than showing you empty screens.
