# Courses

> Discipleship material your people work through at their own pace.

Courses are how discipleship happens in Harvest — a new believers' course, a membership class, a leadership track, a Bible study series.

## Two kinds of course

    Ready-made courses you can **adopt**. They appear alongside your own with no writing needed.

## Adopting a library course

Open the **Library** tab in Courses and adopt what fits. Your members see it immediately.

  An adopted course counts towards your plan's course limit, the same as one you wrote yourself.
</Note>

## Building your own

Add lessons, text, images and video. Members work through at their own pace and their progress is tracked.

## Notes

Members can take notes as they work through a lesson, and those notes stay with them.

## Course limits

Each plan includes a number of courses — your own and adopted together. The header shows what you have used.

For an evangelist on the Free plan, courses plus [signups](/ministry/forms-and-signups) is the whole product: teach one person, see who enrolled, export their details.
